The Restaurant 1643 is located in the small seaside village of Le Carbet. Next to the zoo, in one of Martinique’s oldest "habitations", the owner and her staff will give you a warm and professional welcome. The colourful cuisine is well-executed and offers dishes with a Creole twist, local flavours and accents from further afield. The menu features shrimp crème brûlée alongside a Tuscany style beef tartar, or a duck breast and foie gras burger along with a lobster one. Those with a sweet tooth are not forgotten and can enjoy a baba, prepared, of course, with rum from the distillery next door.
